About Pinay Artist

Hi! My name is Meg Daupan and I launched Pinay Artist in April 2022 as my creative outlet and a means to stay connected with local communities in my home country, the Philippines.

On my webpage, you can see a variety of my art work and blog posts. I also own an Etsy shop where I sell indigenous art and products crafted by myself, and my family and friends across the Philippines.

I was born and raised in the Philippines, and of Igorot-Tagalog-Chinese descent. I moved to the US in 2014 for a second master's degree, in natural resources & environment, later becoming the first Filipino to earn this degree from the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability.

 

I have always had the passion for the arts since childhood. Through Pinay Artist, I seek to explore this passion more deeply, and connect it with my interest and career in environmental and climate justice.
